New TV advert tells spice heritage story

Patak’s is proud to launch a new TV advertising campaign continuing the story of how Patak’s is the reason ‘Why Britain Loves Curry.’

The TV campaign shows the brand’s expertise in selecting and blending the best quality spices for their products and aired for the first time on 24 November 2011.

The activity builds upon the ‘Why Britain Loves Curry’ marketing campaign, which launched in 2009.

Called ‘Young Spice’ the TV activity is set in the 1960s and again features Patak’s Chairman, Kirit Pathak as a child. The 60 second TV ad shows Kirit, who is now a little older, playing hide and seek with his younger brother in the family’s spice warehouse.

Summer Occasions with new Patak's paste

This summer, iconic Indian Food brand, Patak’s, will re -enforce its position as curry paste category leader* with a campaign to drive summer sales of the pastes range.  New print advertisements will highlight the versatility of the pastes as a store cupboard essential for creating recipes throughout the year, with a focus on summer and BBQ.

Despite representing 93%** of the segment, Patak’s aims to drive growth in the Curry Pastes category by educating consumers about how to use the pastes in recipes and meal areas above and beyond traditional winter curries, via a series of press adverts featuring appealing summer recipe photography.

The advertisements will appear in 12 Foodie and Lifestyle titles from the 3rd May and run for 4 weeks over the summer months.  The new advertisements will be supported with a consumer recipe campaign promoting twenty new summer recipes which have been created by Patak’s to show off the pastes’ versatility and to inspire consumers this summer,  including marinades, sauces and salads and BBQ ideas.

The pastes campaign will be further supported digitally, via a series of recipe webcasts featuring, Manish Sharma a Patak’s Development Chef, creating summer recipes.  These exclusive recipes will be hosted on Delia Online website during May.

Tracy Hughes, Marketing Controller at AB World Foods says, “Brits love the summer, especially the barbeque season but curries are more traditionally associated with winter, as a warming dish. The pastes provide a perfect solution for adding flavour to meats and fish for grilling on the barbeque and are quick and easy to use. The new ads aim to highlight the pastes’ versatility and suitability for summer recipes.”

Celebrate ‘Phal’thers Day with Patak’s new ‘Hot & Spicy’ range

Authentic Indian brand, Patak’s, is calling for families all over Britain to bin the bland this Father’s Day and treat Dad to something that will tantalise and tickle his taste buds with its new Hot & Spicy range. Spice up your Father’s Day meal with Patak’s Phal curry sauce which packs a real punch of chilli heat that will blow dull old shepherd’s pie or spag bol out of the water.

Research shows that British consumers appetite for hotter foods is on the up with daring Brits enjoying dishes that are up to 400 times hotter than we ate in the 1960’s.* This is supported by figures showing a whopping 600% rise in sales of the hottest chilli varieties.**

The range has been launched to meet this growing desire amongst Brits for really hot foods at home, such as the mega spicy Phals and Vindaloos, which have been served (to those brave enough!) in UK curry houses for many years. And who better to serve up these fiery delights than Patak’s, whose founders, the Pathak family, first introduced their spice expertise to the UK in 1957?

The Patak’s Hot & Spicy sauce range is available in Tikka Masala (hot), Vindaloo (extra hot), and Phal (extra, extra hot) varieties.  As well as satisfying the cravings of even the most avid fans of hot chilli, the sauces are quick and easy to use; simply add meat, fish or vegetables and a delicious meal will be ready in just 30 minutes – perfect for adding a bit of spice to your midweek dinner.
