Baby Corn & Asparagus Pilau

This tasty vegetarian rice dish is a great take on your usual pilau rice and our Biryani paste gives it a real tangy bite. Simply serve it up on the side to some grilled fish or meat to add a bit of interest and spice to your rice.

  1. Wash the rice in several changes of water and leave to soak in cold water for half an hour.
  2. Wash and cut the asparagus and baby corn into 1cm lengths.  Cook in boiling salted water for a few minutes then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pan add the water and stir though the Patak's Biryani Paste.  Bring to the boil.
  4. Drain the rice and add to the pan.  Stir gently and leave to cook on medium heat for 7-10 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
  5. Drain through a sieve and stir through the vegetables.  Serve piping hot.
