Deep Fried Spinach Dumplings

Little morsels of veggie fun. Exploding with flavour, these are another fantastic starter, and a great canapé for parties. Our Mild Curry paste brings the delicious taste of authentic spices, combined with ginger, garlic and coriander - these are wonderfully aromatic.

Ingredients

  • 400g spinach leaves
  • 200g gram flour
  • ½ tsp turmeric flour
  • 1 tsp garlic, crushed
  • ½ tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Patak's Mild Curry Paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 750ml water
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • oil for frying

Methods

  1. Chop the spinach and place in a large bowl.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients, except the oil and water and mix well.
  3. Add the water slowly and mix well to ensure no lumps form until you have a thick batter.
  4. Heat the oil to 185°C and add one spoonful of dumpling mixture into the oil.  Fry until the dumplings are golden brown in colour.
  5. Drain on absorbent paper and serve with Patak's Raita.
