King Prawn Masala

A truly delicious Balti, this is incredibly easy to make - but the use of king prawns makes this dish seem like a real treat . Serve and cook in a Balti dish for extra authenticity, however your regular pan and plate will do you just fine as well.

Ingredients

  • 450g king prawns, shells removed, deveined with tails left on
  • 200g onions, sliced
  • 175g chopped canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp Patak's Balti Paste
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 100ml water

Methods

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the sliced onions for 10 - 15 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes and Patak's Balti Paste and continue to cook for a further 10 minutes (sprinkle with a little of the water if the mixture begins to stick to the pan).
  3. Add the prawns and remaining water and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Garnish with the fresh coriander and serve with rice and naan breads.
