Lamb Dopiaza

Dopiaza actually means onions - twice.... Therefore this mouth-watering curry is characterised by extra onions in a tomato based sauce. It is a super quick and easy weekday meal. I've used our Dopiaza cooking sauce here, which combines all the flavours and spices you need into one easy jar. If you feel like making it even simpler you can just pour this over cooked meat and simmer.

This recipe features

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion - sliced.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 450g boneless lean lamb, cubed
  • 1 500g jar Patak's Dopiaza Cooking Sauce
  • 2 tbsp chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1 tbsp natural unset yogurt

Methods

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and cook for a few minutes
  2. Add the meat and cook for 2-3 minutes until sealed.
  3. Shake the jar of Patak's Dopiaza Cooking Sauce and stir into the meat.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and coriander, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 25 - 30 minutes or until the lamb is tender.
  5. Remove from the heat and stir in the yogurt before serving hot with  rice and naan breads.
