Prawn Balti

A mouth-watering seafood Balti, made easy using our spice paste, this has all the hallmarks of a Balti - rich, tasty and bursting with flavour. Patak's Balti paste has already blended all the spices you need to make this taste really authentic (it contains ginger, tomato, cumin, coriander and other authentic Indian spices), therefore it is just a simple matter of tossing the rest together in a pan. Simple and utterly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 250g raw prawns
  • 80g onions, diced
  • 175g canned chopped tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Patak's Balti Paste
  • 50g green peppers, diced
  • 50g fresh tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 2 tbsp natural yogurt
  • 2 tbsp single cream
  • water if required

Methods

  1. Heat the oil and fry the diced onions for 2 minutes, add the Patak's Balti Paste together with the chopped tomatoes and fry for 4 minutes.
  2. Add the diced green peppers, yogurt, diced fresh tomatoes, prawns and a little water if the sauce is too thick, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the single cream and cook uncovered on a medium heat for a further 2 minutes.
  4. Serve piping hot, garnished with the chopped fresh coriander
