Easy Aromatic Chicken Biryani

Traditionally biryanis were festive foods, but at Patak's we think there's always something to celebrate- especially when food tastes this good! Traditional to the southern region of India, this is a dry rice dish rather than the saucy curries you might be used to - but is an excellent addition to your roster of weekday meals. Cooked in your oven - the traditional way - our Biryani Oven Bake sauce makes it super easy to make a tasty biryani for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Two chicken breasts - thinly sliced
  • 150g of uncooked Basmati Rice
  • 4 tbsp of water
  • 1 Jar of Oven Bake Biryani Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. oil

Method

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees/Gas Mark 4. In a saucepan, stirfry the chicken for 3 minutes.
  2. Pour over the jar of Oven Bake Biryani Sauce, the basmati rice and the water
  3. Bring to the boil, transfer to an oven-proof dish and tightly cover.
  4. Place in the oven and cook for 35 minutes
