Spicy Egg & Minced Lamb Roll (Bhurjee Kheema)

This is a delicious meal for lunch or dinner - the spices taste wonderful with the egg and the minced lamb, and wrapped up in a hot Chapatti, it is just divine. You can use wraps if you don't have Chapattis to hand, however they do give a more authentic taste. Serve with the fresh, green salad.

Ingredients

Serves 4 people

  • 4 eggs
  • 200g minced lamb
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 tomatoes, diced (or 1 small can)
  • 1 tbsp Patak's Balti Spice Paste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 4 Patak's Chapattis
  • salt as required

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the diced onions for 2 minutes then add the minced lamb and fry for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the Patak's Balti Spice Paste and continue to fry for another 2 - 3 minutes.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes stirring continuously and cook on a medium heat for 20 minutes.
  4. When the lamb is tender scramble the eggs in a separate bowl then mix in with the meat. Add the chopped coriander and remove from the heat.
  5. Heat the Patak's Chapattis according to the instructions on the pack, place the lamb mixture along the centre of each chapatti and roll up.
